First day of final sailing at the Croatian Optimist Championship

The final series of sailing began today at the Croatian Optimist Championship, which is being held from 3 to 7 September 2025 and is organized by the Sailing Club Split. After two days of qualifying series in light to moderate southwest winds, sailing in the gold and silver groups began today. The maestral wind showed its strength today and blew stronger than in previous days, reaching speeds of around 20 knots. Three final races were successfully held on the regatta course south of Čiovo, where the cadet fleet is fighting for the title of Croatian champion. So far, a total of 9 races have been sailed in the championship, and tomorrow is expected to be continued in similar conditions like today. Although the regatta course is well known to everyone, each day is decorated with its own finesse and uniqueness.

The championship ends on Sunday, when we will find out who will take home the title of Croatian champion in the Optimist class for 2025. The fight for the first three places is extremely uncertain, and the fight for the medal will be decided by millimeters, and we are eagerly awaiting the outcome on Sunday.
