Every year, we look forward to welcoming young sailors, coaches, and their families from Croatia and abroad to our club. Winter Cup, held annually since 2019, is an international regatta that continues to attract a growing fleet while bringing what matters most – smiles, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences for our youngest sailors.
Winter Cup holds a special place in our racing calendar as the only international regatta of its kind south of Opatija, offering young sailors the opportunity to compete at a high level in the unique sailing environment of Split and Kaštela Bay.
As a club that organizes around ten regattas each year, we have extensive experience in hosting sailing events, together with the knowledge and infrastructure required to deliver a high-quality regatta both on the water and ashore.
Winter Cup takes place at a time of year when Split can still offer excellent sailing conditions. The mild Mediterranean climate and variety of winds create an exciting and challenging racecourse where young sailors can demonstrate their skills, gain valuable experience and, above all, enjoy sailing.
Over several days of racing, competitors can look forward to top-quality sailing in the waters around Split, international competition, and the warm hospitality of Sailing Club Split (JK Split). Great racing, professional organization, and a friendly atmosphere are the qualities we want Winter Cup to be known for year after year.
What happens ashore is equally important to us. Our club members and volunteers make sure that everyone feels welcome, and during the regatta a warm meal is provided for young sailors and their coaches after racing each day.
For teams wishing to spend more time in Split and prepare for the competition, we also organize a training camp ahead of the regatta. It is a great opportunity to become familiar with the specific wind conditions of Kaštela Bay, enjoy high-quality training sessions, and sail alongside our young sailors.
Developing young athletes is one of the foundations of our club. JK Split sailors consistently achieve excellent results and represent Croatia as members of the national sailing team, reflecting the continuity and quality of our youth sailing programme.
Winter Cup is more than just a competition. We want it to be a meeting place for young sailors from different clubs and countries – a place to exchange experiences, build new friendships, and share a common passion for sailing.
